Bentley Batur Convertible - The ultimate personal commission

The ultimate personal commission

With just 16 being produced, the Bentley Batur Convertible is the latest coachbuilt creation to emerge from the studios of Bentley's personal commissioning division.

Underpinning the Batur is a modified version of the Bentley Continental GT's chassis, fitted with completely bespoke bodywork and styling elements. The body itself is constructed from carbon fibre, and as with the coupe it's said to preview the new design direction of Bentley's future models.

Designed to offer the ultimate all-year-round driving experience, this is the first true convertible car in Mulliner's modern coachbuilding era. Which means that, not only can it be driven in all weathers with the roof closed, but when the conditions are right, you can also enjoy the elemental thrill of driving in the open air. The electrically-folding fabric roof that can be operated at speeds up to 30mph.

When the roof is open, the unique, aviation-inspired 'airbridge' design becomes visible from the outside of the car. Based on two arch-shaped features positioned behind the driver and passenger respectively, it adds to the impression of a sleek, ergonomic cockpit.

Beneath the bonnet sits the most powerful iteration of Bentley's 6.0-litre W12 engine ever, delivering an astonishing 750 PS.

This will be the last open-top model to feature Bentley's W12 engine as it's destined to be discontinued in summer 2024, replaced in series production models with a new V8 plug-in hybrid combination.
